Episode 556: Mother’s Finest – Mickey’s Monkey (w/ Tom Werman)

Renowned record producer Tom Werman joins the guys to analyze a Chris pick: “Mickey’s Monkey” from the 1977 album Another Mother Further by Mother’s Finest! Instead of selecting something by one of the many more-famous acts Tom has worked with in the past (including Ted Nugent, Cheap Trick, Motley Crue, Twisted Sister, Dokken, and Poison) the Gunslinger decided to go with a song off one of his very favorite albums from the ’70s. Did he ruin the opportunity for an interesting discussion, or enhance it? Did the Jones Brothers enjoy or eviscerate this new discovery for them? Listen and find out!

ABOUT Pod of Thunder:
Each week from April 2013 to December 2018, Nick Jones, Andy Jones and Chris Lathrop analyzed a song from the KISS catalog, selected randomly from the band’s 1974 debut through their most recent release, “Monster.” From there, general KISS discussion occurred, other nonsense unfolded and listener participation was encouraged. They covered every KISS song, so now on each episode they analyze a rock song submitted by a listener. Don’t worry, the nonsense has remained intact!
